Is an AEG washing machine worth repairing?
Usually, yes. AEG builds for a long service life, so a machine that develops a fault at eight or ten years old often has plenty of use left in it, and a well-executed repair returns it to full service. The honest test is the same as always: what the repair costs, against what an equivalent new machine costs. On AEG, that comparison tends to favour repairing.
Why is my AEG machine not spinning?
On the newer inverter-motor ranges there are no carbon brushes to wear out, so the likely causes are the door interlock (the machine will not spin without a confirmed door lock), the tachometer that reports motor speed, or the motor control board. An unbalanced load will also cause the machine to abandon a spin — we always eliminate the simple explanations first.
